Francesca Colombara (CIANCI) is an Italian animation director, illustrator, and comic artist. She co-founded CIANG studio, a 2D animation studio based in Verbania, Italy. Born in 1994 in Verbania, she graduated in Decoration from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in 2017 and completed a master’s degree in Comics at the Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna in 2021.
Her graphic novel "Panic! Pandemic Diary from Italy" was published by Centrala in 2021. Over the years, she has collaborated with numerous brands and clients, including FX, GIPHY, NBA, Vans, Dickies, The North Face, Tesco, TED-Ed, and Bloomberg. Her music videos and short films have been selected for many international animation festivals, and her work has been featured in numerous art exhibitions. In 2025, she co-curated "Vite, Morti e Miracolo", a group exhibition at TAM – Tower Art Museum in Matera. In the same year, Francesca was part of the jury at the LINOLEUM Contemporary Animation and Media Art Festival for the commissioned film competition.
Francesca enjoys painting on wood, crocheting, and walking in nature.
